Homemade Shaker Instruments with Pasta
Our Orzo Shakers musical craft is easy on the ears and simple for even the littlest ones. Use what you have around the house to make music!

Equipment
- Elmer's Glue Sticks
- tape (masking tape, duct tape, or packing tape)
- ½-1 cup uncooked orzo pasta
- 1 toilet paper roll
- decorating tools (your choice: markers, paint, tissue paper, decals, stickers)
Instructions
- Using masking tape, tape the bottom of a toilet paper roll/tube closed tightly. (If using scotch tape, it might make sense to decorate the shaker before adding in orzo).
- Fill a cardboard tube with the orzo. To minimize the mess, pour the orzo over a plate or empty bowl to catch the falling pieces. Tape the top of the tube closed tightly.
- Decorate your shaker with markers, paint, stickers, decals or tissue paper.
