Instructions

  • Place apple on a cutting board, core side up. 
  • Slice apple ÂĽ-1/2 inch from core. 
  • Rotate apple 90 degrees and cut again until all four sides are removed. Set aside core. 
  • Place apples quarters cut side down, and slice into ÂĽ-½-inch pieces or your desired thickness.

  • Be sure to use a sharp knife- like chef's knife- to get clean cuts and avoid bruising.
  • Make sure the apple is completely dry so it doesn’t slip while you’re cutting it.
  • Use a stable cutting board. To keep your cutting board from sliding, place a damp paper towel or a non-slip mat underneath it.
  • It's best to serve cut apples right away, as they tend to quickly brown once sliced.
  • If slicing apples for baking, make sure all your slices are the same thickness—about ÂĽ inch—so they cook evenly.
  • Store apple slices in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
