💜 The Portland Calendar You Need!
I created a calendar of June-Labor Day 2024 events in the Portland metro area!

I actually started this Google calendar in 2022 just for shits and giggles, for me and my kids, because (a) I got tired of hearing “Mom, I’m so bored!” AND (b) I always miss cool summer events and hear about them after the fact. But now I’ve made it my mission to capture as much Portland-metro stuff as I can and make it available to everyone. So, please enjoy and share!
❓Questions
Family-oriented events (so, not 21+), mostly free or low cost, majority are outdoors, in the Portland metro area and a little beyond. Of course, you don’t have to be a parent or kid to enjoy the events 🙂
I tried to make this real simple, using emojis. These are used the most:
🍅 = food-based market
🎉 = festival, fair, celebration
🎬 = movie
🎵 = musical event
🛍 = general market
🌲 = nature-oriented event
🤸♂️ 🛼 🚲 🏊♂️ = misc. movement-based events
And then there are a bunch of specific emojis that you’ll see and understand, e.g. 🌈 for Pride events OR 🇺🇸 for 4th of July events.
🤦♀️ Human Error Notes
- Always double-check the original information source for the event, in case I got a date or time wrong. I include URLs in the event notes.
- Now, despite doing a ton of research, I can’t capture all the events. Please let me know if the calendar is missing something important to you: julie@platein28.com. I’m continuously adding to it, like obsessively 🙂
