Hello fellow Portlanders! If you're like me, you're desperate to do ALLLL the summer things while we have such precious, limited sunny weather. But there are always SO many options and it can be overwhelming. Don't worry, I got you!!!

The Portland Calendar You Need!

I created a calendar of July & August 2022 family-oriented events in Portland, OR metro! 😎 Official calendar link here! 😎

I actually made this Google calendar just for shits and giggles, for me and my kids, because I always miss cool summer events and hear about them after the fact. But the calendar got so big that I realized it'd be a shame not to make it available to everyone. So, please enjoy and share!

Questions

What kind of events, you ask?

Family-oriented events (so, not 21+), mostly free or low cost, majority are outdoors, in the Portland metro area and a little beyond. Of course, you don't have to be a parent or kid to enjoy the events 🙂

How to read the calendar?

I tried to make this real simple, using emojis.
🍅 = farmers market
🎉 = festival, fair, celebration
🎬 = movie
🎵 = musical event
🎨 = art-based event
🛍 = general market
🌲 = nature-oriented event
🤸‍♂️ = movement-based event
And then there are a bunch of specific emojis that you'll see and understand, i.e. 🚲 for a bike riding event.

Human Error Notes

Always double-check the original information source for the event, in case I got a date or time wrong. I tried to include URLs in the event notes when possible.

Now, despite doing a ton of research, I know there are hundreds of events missing. Please let me know if you feel something really ought to be on there: [email protected]. I'm going to continue adding to it, as well. And then next year it can be even better (and start in May, not mid July)!
