If your kids like play food, they may also want to try these crafts: play food asparagus, playdough burgers and pepperoni paper pizza!

👍 Why we Love this Carrot Craft

Minimal Supplies. All you need is a toiler paper rolls, orange yarn and green construction paper!

Lots of playtime. We love play food crafts! Once kids create their carrot craft, they can actually play with it!

Carrot facts! Take this time to to share some fun carrot facts with kids, like how carrots are packed with beta-carotene, a red-orange pigment found in some plants and fruits. Our bodies convert beta-carotene into Vitamin A, which we need for healthy vision, bones, teeth and skin.

Fine motor skills- Our carrot craft provides a great opportunity for kids to practice their developing fine motor skills, like cutting, folding and taping.

    ✂️ Supplies

    • Toilet paper roll
    • Scissors- We love these kid-friendly scissors
    • Tape and/or stapler
    • Orange yarn
    • Green paper -Construction paper is ideal

Note: If you don't have orange yarn lying around, there are lots of other ways to give your carrot craft an orange color, like by painting your toilet paper roll orange or by decorating it with orange construction paper. It might also be fun to cover your carrot with small squares of orange tissue paper.

Step 3: Cut out 4-5 thin, rectangular strips of green construction paper (the thicker the paper, the better!). Form a triangle shape with the strips and tape/staple them together where they meet. Secure the bunch of strips to the inside of the paper carrot with tape or a staple.
