👍Why We Love this DIY Witch Decor Project

A fun food craft- We love crafting with food and eggplant is a great base for a witch craft (get it, witchcraft?!). Okay, stupid jokes aside, the veggie is soft enough to be easily manipulated, i.e. easy to poke toothpicks through the flesh. Also, the color is fabulous and the calyx at the top kinda looks like hair.

A great centerpiece- This eggplant craft makes for a great centerpiece for a Halloween party! We also placed these Halloween witches out on our front stoop next to our pumpkins!

A chance to learn about eggplant- Did you know that eggplant ice believed to have originated in India? While crafting, take a moment to share some fun eggplant facts with your kids, like how eggplant is culinarily considered a vegetable, but is actually a member of the berry family and how its color varies from purple to white and green.

    • Elmer's Glue
    • Tape

Step 2: Make Witch's Hat. Cut a large circle and triangle from paper and decorate as desired. On the bottom edge of the triangle, fold over a little strip. With tape, attach the triangle strip to the circle. To attach the hat to the eggplant, place the hat on top of the eggplant and stick 2 toothpicks through the taped-down hat strip, on the backside of the hat.

Step 3: Make Witch's Broom. Cut a broom's shape out of brown paper. Then use scissors to cut the broom head strands. Attach the broom to the eggplant witch with a toothpick OR make arms out of toothpicks and then tape the broom to an arm.
