👍 Why we Love this Chicken Craft

An up-cycled craft– We are passionate about repurposing our recyclables and this chicken craft fits the bill! Note: If you love up cycled crafts, be sure to also check out our Tin Can Pencil HolderEgg Carton Treasure Chest and Bunny Candy Dishes.

Napkin rings! These chickens make adorable napkin rings that you can use to decorate your table! Also, you can make other animal napkin rings based on the season or theme of your meal, like these adorable owl and squirrel napkin holders.

Simple for all ages– This was a very simple activity that my kids were able to do largely on their own.

Fine motor skills. The cardboard chicken craft provides a great opportunity for children to hone in on their cutting, painting, and gluing skills.

Step 3: Cut out a small orange triangle for the chicken’s beak. Once the chicken’s paint is dry, glue the beak onto the chicken’s face. Use a black marker to give your chicken eyes.

Crafting Tip: The trickiest part of this craft is cutting out the chicken head shape from the toilet paper roll. Grown-ups or older siblings might need to help trace the shape of the chicken on the toilet paper roll and cut along the lines of the tracing.
