Why We Love Footprint Art
Footprint crafts are such a great way to capture a child's development and create special keepsakes. And it usually starts in the hospital when we get those tiny little imprints or stamps of our kids' feet! To continue the tradition, I try and do at least one footprint or handprint art project a year with my kids. And these crafts make wonderful gifts for family members.
This footprint art project was inspired by this adorable Cinco de May craft by Artsy Mamma. Since my husband loves peppers, I thought I'd turn my kiddos' footprints into adorable green poblano pepper keepsakes!
How to Make Father's Day Footprint Art
This craft is super fun and a tad bit messy, which made it all the more appealing for my kiddos. Kids simply paint the bottom of their foot green, stamp there foot on paper, decorate their pepper, and finish wish a special "spicy" message for dad! You can also personalize the craft by adding your kid's photograph to the poblano pepper footprint.
We ended up stamping my daughter's foot onto several pieces of paper, making poblano pepper footprints for her dad, grandparents and teachers.

📝Instructions📝
Consider setting up the craft before cooking so kids can get to work right away.
1. Paint the bottom of one foot green with washable paint. Keep lots of wet paper towels handy to wipe up messes! Stamp foot onto the center of a piece of paper.
Â
2. Draw the pepper's stem on top of the footprint (above the toes).
Â
3. Once the paint is dry, add a face slightly below the toes of your footprint OR cut and paste a photo of your own face onto the pepper!* This is a great option when turning this footprint art project into a Father's Day gift.Â
Â
4.  Draw pepper's arms and legs.
Â
5. Decorate the rest of the paper with messages, stickers or more drawings! Now share your Father's Day footprint art!
