👍 Why We Love this Wreath Craft

Festive! In our house we like the kids to make ornaments as keepsakes every year, and this is the perfect DIY ornament to add to your collection!

Trash to treasure. Why throw out wine corks when you can turn them into art?! We love transforming our recyclables into new, creative projects.

Homemade gifts. There is something so sweet about having kids make vs buy gifts for others. Kids can hand these wreath ornaments out to teachers, friends or relatives as gifts or party favors!

Simple supplies. Aside from the wine corks and just a regular old cup, all you need is 3 basic craft supplies.

🍾 Crafting with Wine Corks

We love crafting with wine corks because they’re lightweight, durable and easy for crafters of all skill levels to use. Wine corks are easy to collect, but you can also find them in craft stores and online. You can even ask for them at restaurants. Whether you’re upcycling or just getting creative, wine corks are a fun and eco-friendly choice for DIY projects—also like this adorable honeybee cork craft!

✂️ Materials & Substitutions

Notes on key supplies are provided below. Please see the “how-to” card for a full list of supplies and quantities.

Labeled supplies for wine cork ornament craft.
  • Wine corks– any used and dried wine corks will do the trick!
  • Pom-poms– we used multiple colors of pom-poms. If you don’t have pom-poms, you can also paint the wine corks or glue on colorful buttons, tissue paper or scraps of felt.
  • Yarn– string or ribbon will also work, as long as it’s strong enough to hold the weight of the ornament.
  • Hot glue gun seems to work the best with cork, followed by Tacky Glue. We don’t recommend Elmer’s glue for this craft.
