When our daughter Hadley asked for a Frozen-themed birthday party, I was thrilled and decided to go in full-force. After all, this princess, fairytale phase is very short-lived and I wanted her to have magical memories of this sweet time in her life. Note: This was in November of 2019, before COVID and social gatherings became a concern.

Edible Marshmallow Snowman Craft!
While I had intended to create some homemade decorations for the party, this quickly became impossible with our busy schedule. So, my husband and I decided to focus our efforts on providing some creative, Frozen-themed snacks. The highlight of our efforts were these adorable and 100% edible Marshmallow Snowmen!
These snowmen are a wonderful wintertime craft. They make a fun activity for holiday parties or playdates. They also make great party favors! For my daughter's birthday last year, we made a whole batch of snowmen to hand out at school for a birthday snack.
How Do You Make A Marshmallow Snowman?
There are really three components to making a marshmallow snowman:
The Snowman's Body: To make our marshmallow snowman, we simply fastened three jumbo marshmallows together using a pretzel stick. We broke another pretzel stick in half and stuck each half into the sides of our snowman to form his arms.
The Snowman's Facial Features: We used an orange Mike and Ike for our snowman's nose and secured two Candy Eyeballs to his face using Decorating Icing.
The Snowman's Buttons! And finally, we used the icing to"glue" two chocolate chip to our snowman's belly to form his buttons.
Make Your Marshmallow Snowman with Pretzels
We have seen some crafters use skewers/sticks to fasten their marshmallows together. Others use frosting to "glue" the marshmallows together. We found pretzel sticks to be the best method for forming our snowmen for several reasons.
First of all, using pretzel sticks enabled our marshmallow snowmen to be 100% edible. Secondly, using pretzels made less of a mess than "gluing" our marshmallows together with frosting. This also took away any waiting time needed for icing to dry. Thirdly, using pretzel sticks was really easy for our kiddos to manage on their own, so they could take full ownership of the craft.

📝instructions📝
Consider setting up the craft before cooking so kids can get to work right away.
- Pierce a pretzel stick through three marshmallows to form a snowman.
- Push an orange Mike and Ike into the center of the top marshmallow to form your snowman's nose. Note: twisting the candy into the marshmallow helps secure it in place.
- Break a pretzel stick in half. Pierce and secure each half of the pretzel stick into the right and left side of the center marshmallow to form the snowman's arms.
- Use the Decorating Icing to secure two Candy Eyeballs to the snowman's face and two chocolate chips to his belly (to form his buttons!). Now display and/or eat your adorable snowman!
